Cynthia Mahmood, Associate Professor of Anthropology, University of Notre Dame, Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies
Mahmood is the author of Fighting for Faith and Nation: Dialogues with Sikh Militants (University of Pennsylvania Press, 1996) and edits the continuing series The Ethnography of Political Violence, both published by the University of Pennsylvania Press. In addition to serving as a policy advisor to the U.S., U.K. and Canada, Mahmood currently researches religion, terrorism and political violence in Punjab, Kashmir and Cyprus.
