Brown's CineBRASIL was launched in March 2008 to bring the latest in Brazilian cinema to New England.
Cuba
Ten Brown students will study at Casa de las Américas in Havana in a new study abroad program, beginning in fall of 2008.

CLAS offered two sections of Basic Haitian Creole in 2007-2008.

In 2007, Brown Professor Matthew Gutmann chaired a fact-finding delegation to investigate the 2006 social conflict in Oaxaca.
