Rowe Fund Student Loan Program
Organization of American States Leo S. Rowe Pan American Fund Interest Free Student Loans

Do you want additional financing for your studies at a United States University? Are you a citizen of a member state of the OAS? If so, the Rowe Fund Student Loan Program helps citizens from Latin America and Caribbean OAS Member States finance their studies in universities across the United States by awarding interest free loans.

Applications are accepted and reviewed year-round. The loans are also available for university faculty and professionals with the support of the local university in the member state for continuing education or professional development courses in the United States.

The studies or research must last for one academic semester and all studies and research, for which the loan is granted, need to be completed within a two year period. These loans are made on the understanding that when the recipients have completed their studies, they are to return to their respective home countries to assist in their countries’ economic development and social integration. Organizational Leadership

Are you looking for leadership experience in the developing world? Rebecca Meyers, a Brown anthropology PhD student, is looking for students who are interested in helping start a campus organization that will be affiliated with The International Humanitarian Foundation. The Brown chapter will partner with developing world communities to help them meet their most pressing needs. The partner they have selected is SYJAC, an organization based in Chiapas, Mexico that works with indigenous families to support education, health, and infrastructure initiatives.

Everyone who is interested is invited to get involved. Spanish skills are helpful but not necessary.
