Alfred Gusenbauer, most recently chancellor of Austria, is visiting professor in international studies. During his career, former Chancellor Gusenbauer has served Austria’s Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) and government in many capacities, among them, party leader, leader of the Social Democratic Group in the Austrian Parliament, vice president of the Socialist International, and vice-president of the International Union of Socialist Youth. While at the Institute, he will lecture, offer graduate workshops, deliver a public seminar, contribute to the Institute’s ongoing effort to develop a program in global governance, advise on European security policy, and pursue his own writing and research.
Gusenbauer studied political science, philosophy, and law at the University of Vienna, where he earned his law degree and a PhD political science. He is the author of Netzwerk Innovation (Network Innovation), Czernin Verlag, 2002.
