Prendergast has focused most of his 20-year career on conflict resolution and the shape of U.S. foreign policy in Africa. He worked for the Clinton administration from 1996?2001, as well as a variety of nongovernmental organizations and think tanks in Africa and the U.S. Prendergast also specializes in human rights promotion and humanitarian action. He has authored or co-authored seven books on Africa.
This event is part of the Darfur Genocide Conference, which is being sponsored by the Darfur Action Network and the Watson Institute. A roundtable earlier in the day at 1:00 p.m. is cosponsored with the Africa Group.
