Friends of the Watson Institute is a great way to support the work of the Watson Institute while engaging with its scholars, policymakers, and other alumni and friends with a keen interest in international affairs. As a Friend, you will receive invitations to select events in your area and on the Brown campus, in addition to events open to the larger Brown community; faculty publications on topics of interest to you; and the Brown Journal of World Affairs. Please see our online brochure for more information.

The FoWI program is chaired by Institute Overseer Lucinda B. Watson, daughter of the late Ambassador Thomas J. Watson, Jr., who founded the Institute to address contemporary global problems. FoWI members help shape the program and act as ambassadors for the Watson Institute and the University. This expanding network of Friends is central to achieving the Institute’s goals across the globe.
