2002 Watson International Scholars of the Environment
Helen Bugaari works with the World Food Programme in Kablu Afghanistan. She coordinates a joint programme of six UN agencies, supporting the government of Afghanistan to reverse the severe environmental degradation that has taken place over decades of civil strife. The program establishes nurseries in provinces and trains government officials and schoolchildren in environmental protection.
