2009 Watson International Scholars of the Environment

Mr. Kawsu Jammeh, a 2009 Watson International Scholar of the Environment, has 17 years of experience in environmental education and protected area management work. He is the manager for the project titled “Supporting Gambia Action for CBD Program of Work on Protected Areas.” He is the national focal point for CBD PoWPA and RAMSAR Wetlands, and the president of Sahel Wetlands Concern, an NGO.

He has a diploma in development studies from Stratford College, The Gambia; a certificate in wetlands and poverty reduction from Uganda Wildlife Education Center; and a certificate from the Center de Reserche Ecologique et Formation du Dalaba in Senegal.
