Program Faculty

Drawn from throughout Brown University and the other institutions, our faculty are leaders in their fields, with extensive experience in developing nation environmental contexts. Beyond lecture halls, program fellows interact with faculty in mentorship consultations, in project planning, at colloquia, on field visits, during informal receptions and at other special events. Core faculty are internationally recognized scholar-practitioners in areas of ecosystem science, biodiversity maintenance, ecological economics, global environmental change and natural resource conservation. Additional faculty affiliated with the program add extensive depth in areas of environmental law, coastal resource management, demographic science and policy, environmental history, hydrology and water resource management, environmental health, urban planning, impact assessment, geographic information systems (GIS), rural sociology, toxics use reduction, negotiations and conflict resolution, stochastic modeling of environmental processes, international trade and environmental impacts, and global biogeochemistry.
