Mark Whitaker is the editor of Newsweek. Whitaker first came to Newsweek in
1977, moving his way up through the ranks as a reporting intern, a stringer,
full-time reporter, business editor, assisting managing editor, managing
editor, and then editor in 1998. Whitaker helped expand Newsweek's
technology coverage with the launch of a monthly "Focus on Technology"
section, a weekly Cyberscope page, and a yearly newsstand
magazine, Computers and the Family. Whitaker oversaw the magazine's coverage
of the 9.11 attacks, which was honored with a prestigious National Magazine
Award for General Excellence in 2002. |
