Israel reopens Sari Nusseibeh's offices after two-week shutdown

The Al-Quds University offices of TACTsymposium participant Sari Nusseibeh were reopened on Monday July 22, 2002 after Nusseibeh pledged in writing to cease all Palestinian Authority activity from the premises. The offices were close two weeks earlier on Tuesday July 9, 2002. Some relevant news coverage:

Onlookers cheered and threw sweets in the air as Israeli police arrived at the university with keys to open the door, the Associated Press reported. But office director Dimitri Diliani said that it would be several days before the office could be restored to working order, as Israeli officials had taken vital documents and computer disks. 7/22/2002
