January 24, 2007 Today's Brown Daily Herald features former US Sen. Lincoln Chafee ’75’s recent appointment as distinguished visiting fellow at the Watson Institute.
The BDH article describes how Chafee has already started working at Watson to organize an undergraduate study group, invite policy experts to campus this semester, and prepare a February 12 Stephen A. Ogden Jr. Memorial Lecture on the Quartet Roadmap to Israeli-Palestinian Peace. The article also underscores how his appointment advances Watson’s goal of bridging the gap between academics and policymaking.
Chafee is also featured in the January/February issue of the Brown Alumni Magazine. In the cover story, he not only says that he understands why Rhode Island voted for his Democratic opponent – but that he also believes November’s Republican defeat is good for America.
